Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use 1ksignings.com or book notary signing services with 1K Signings ("we," "us"). By using the site or placing an order, you agree to them. If you have a separate written agreement with us, that agreement controls where it differs from these terms.

Our services

We schedule and coordinate mobile notary and loan signing appointments, performed by commissioned notaries and signing agents, for escrow companies, title companies, lenders and individuals. We also offer related services such as document courier, apostille assistance, inspections and notice posting.

What notaries can and can't do

Notaries verify identity, witness signatures and complete notarial certificates. They are not attorneys and cannot give legal, financial or tax advice, explain what a document means for the signer, or tell the signer which documents to sign. Questions about the documents should go to the client who ordered the signing, the lender or an attorney.

A notary must decline or stop a notarization if the signer cannot be identified with acceptable ID, appears not to understand or be willing to sign, or if the law otherwise does not allow it.

Placing an order

When you place an order, you agree to:

• Give us accurate, complete signer and appointment information
• Deliver complete documents and clear instructions in time for the appointment
• Let the signer know they will need valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID

Appointments are confirmed once we've assigned a notary. We'll keep you updated if anything changes.

Fees, payment and cancellations

Fees are quoted for each order or set by your client agreement with us.

• Payment: Invoices are due within 30 days.
• Cancellations and reschedules: We ask for 12 to 24 hours' notice, depending on the time of day of the appointment. If the notary is already on the way, a fee of half to the full signing fee applies, depending on the situation.
• Incomplete signings: If a signing can't be completed because the signer doesn't show, has no valid ID, or documents are missing or incorrect, a fee of half to the full signing fee applies, depending on the situation.
• Extra charges: Very large packages, additional signers, after-hours appointments and courier are discussed case by case and confirmed with your order.

Documents and returns

We follow the return instructions on each order, including scanbacks and shipping. Once a package is handed to a shipping carrier or courier service, delivery times are up to that carrier, and we are not responsible for its delays or losses. We'll share tracking information whenever it's available.

Using our website

The information on this site is general and may change without notice. Please don't misuse the site, try to disrupt it, or copy its content for commercial use. Links to other websites, including our ordering portal, are provided for convenience, and those sites have their own terms.

The 1K Signings name, logo and site content belong to us and may not be used without our written permission.

Indemnity

You agree to cover our reasonable costs, including attorney fees, if someone else makes a claim against us because of inaccurate or incomplete order information or documents you gave us, your misuse of this website, or your violation of these terms. This does not apply to claims caused by our own negligence or misconduct.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, such as lost profits or delayed closings, arising from our website or services. Our total liability for any order is limited to the fees you paid us for that order.

Governing law

These terms are governed by California law. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts serving Riverside County, California. Any claim must be brought within one year after it arises.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above. Orders placed after an update follow the new terms.
